We have put together an in-depth manual for The Antler House for your convenience - we know there's a lot here but hope it makes an useful reference! There is also a printed version available in the house.

Wifi

Parking

3 free parking spaces are available for guests in front of the house.

Quiet Time

  • We care about our neighbour's comfort in this peaceful area and hope you will too.
  • Quiet hours are 10PM - 7AM.
  • A wireless system measuring decibel levels (noise) will be installed on the property.

Air Conditioning And Heating

GAS FIREPLACE

Turn on with a switch on/off the left side of the mantle. If it doesn't light within 15 seconds. Turn off and try again,

HEAT PUMP - For Heat or Air Conditioning

Hallway control for bedrooms
Step 1 - Press Power
Step 2 - Select Mode
Step 3 - Set Temperature
Main Area control is in cutlery drawer
Step 1 - press power
Step 2 - Set Temperature

BBQ / GRILL

A built in natural gas BBQ that starts with an electric ignition switch is located on the patio. No fire starter is required.


BBQ Instructions
Step 1 - Ensure lid is open
Step 2 - Turn knob, hear click and watch for flame. If it doesn't light, turn the knob off and on again until flame appears.
Step 3 - Turn on subsequent burners you require
Step 4 - Ensure burners are off when done.
In the drawers beside the BBQ there are tongs, a flipper and some other items such as gloves.

Outdoor Fires

Extreme caution must be used when enjoying fires.

WOOD FIRES

Are allowed when permitted by local authorities. Currently there is a FIRE BAN in effect.


A bucket with complimentary wood will be provided.
Keep all burning wood, sticks and ashes in the fire pit.

GAS FIRES

When wood fires are not permitted a gas fireplace will be provided.

Outdoor Edison Lights

Light switches located above the dryer will turn outdoor lights on and off.

Kitchen

  • Please use any of our stocked items in the cupboard or fridge while you are here.
  • A compost bucket for raw food is also under the sink. No cooked food or animal products please.
  • Dispose cooking oil in a container and then into the garbage can.
  • Filtered water is inside the door of the fridge.
  • Dishwasher tabs are located in the drawer beside the sink.


Washroom

  • Please only deposit human waste and toilet paper down the toilets as we have a septic tank.
  • A toilet plunger is located under each sink.

Pets

  • A maximum of 2 well behaved pets are welcome.
  • Pets must be attended to at all times in the fenced yard and house.
  • Behind the shop there is a poop scoop and container on the wall to put waste.
  • There is resolve spray for any accidents in the cupboard above the laundry room sink.
  • If the house gets unreasonably dirty, a $250 cleaning fee will be added at the end of your stay.

Check-out

As your group prepares to go ... remember, new guests may be arriving soon. Please make sure to check-out by 11am, unless you've made prior arrangements for a late check-out.

Please assist us by completing these tasks:

1. Load and run the dishwasher using the tabs in the drawer near the sink.

2. Save energy by turning off the heat pump, fireplace, stove, and lights.

3. Check that all doors are securely locked, and use the Yale button to confirm the front door is closed.

4. If you can let us know when you checkout it’s always appreciated!
